SAIE Bari, The Construction Fair: 25,527 visiting professionals, +35 percent over 2021, and 407 exhibiting companies, +64 percent compared to the 2021 edition.
Appointment in Bologna with the next edition of SAIE from October 9 to 12, 2024. The show will return to Bari in 2025.
Milan, Oct. 24, 2023 – A record-breaking edition for SAIE, the Construction Fair – design, construction, facilities – which said goodbye to Bari last Saturday after three days of networking, in-depth analysis, and exhibition for the construction community from all over Italy and beyond. The third edition of SAIE in the Apulian capital recorded the highest numbers ever: there were 407 companies on display, +64 percent compared to SAIE Bari 2021, and 25,527 visiting professionals (+35 percent). The increasingly successful annual alternation strategy between the Bari and Bologna hubs will continue in the future. The next edition of SAIE will be held, in fact, in Bologna from October 9 to 12, 2024, before returning to Bari in 2025. It is also thanks to the collaboration between BolognaFiere and Nuova Fiera del Levante in Bari that SAIE is thus confirmed as the benchmark event for companies and professionals in the construction industry.
The three-day event in Bari opened with a dialogue between institutions and players in the supply chain: during the inaugural event, the latest Federcostruzioni Report was presented, forecasting, after the 2021-2022 two-year period of high growth, a further 4 percent increase in production at the end of 2023. During the conference, Federcostruzioni President Paola Marone and ANCE Vice President Domenico De Bartolomeo emphasized the importance of being at SAIE and expressed their happiness with the performance of the supply chain, highlighting future critical issues, starting with inflation, up to geopolitical instability and, above all, the cut to the 110% Superbonus, which according to the SAIE Observatory has had a significant impact on 37 percent of companies. We are talking about a situation that has generated, according to an estimate by ANCE, 30 billion in stranded credits to which the Apulia Region itself, with a new law, is providing a solution through its jointly-owned companies. Also Antonio Decaro, Mayor of Bari; Stefano Lacatena, deputy councilor of the Puglia Region; Andrea Barocci, ISI President, Gaetano Frulli, President of Nuova Fiera del Levante, and Ivo Nardella, President of Senaf (the Tecniche Nuove Publishing Group company that organizes SAIE), have participated in the discussion. After the inaugural conference, a handover between the cities of Bari and Bologna was also held in the presence of not only the Mayor of Bari but also Nicola Bonerba, President of ANCE Bari and Bat, and Leonardo Fornaciari, President of ANCE Emilia.
In addition to the exhibition areas and training sessions that showcased the best innovations on the market and offered an interesting analysis of the latest technical and training updates, a great success with the public was also the Cassa Edile Awards, the annual event that rewards the most virtuous companies and workers, organized by the National Joint Commission of Construction Funds and promoted by SAIE. An innovative recognition, which does not seek to assert primacy, but rewards the values of sound entrepreneurship and professionalism to create a virtuous circle within the supply chain. Many activities made this edition of SAIE extraordinary: 123 educational conferences and 25 special initiatives, as well as the support of 75 trade associations. Among the most well-attended events was the final of Ediltrophy, the traditional masonry tournament organized by FORMEDIL in cooperation with the excellence of Italian building schools. Also the first edition of the States General of Concrete was held at SAIE 2023, to analyze the state of the art of the industry and delve into the main issues and innovations in concrete.
There was great curiosity around the photo contest “The Beauty of Infrastructure – Bridges and Viaducts” designed for Instagram which, at a historic moment of great importance of infrastructure thanks to the investments of the NRP, enhanced and celebrated the role of bridges and viaducts as aesthetic and structural elements, with an eye on sustainability.
“The just-completed edition of SAIE was a success on all fronts: from public participation to the satisfaction of participating companies and trade associations to the involvement of institutions and national building schools,” said Emilio Bianchi, Director of SAIE. One of the main purposes of the event is precisely to enable mutual exchange between exhibitors and visitors, to give visibility to the most important product innovations, and to foster the valuable networking that makes all the difference within the supply chain. This year we recorded record numbers, which we intend to replicate both next year in Bologna, where we will confirm the format by including additional thematic innovations, and in 2025 when we return to Bari. A big thank you goes to all those who made this fair possible, the partner associations, the exhibitors who believed in the importance of this moment, and the visiting professionals who enlivened the halls during these days. We will continue to work to provide the supply chain with an effective and developmental appointment for the entire construction market.”
“I am very satisfied with the qualitative and quantitative results that Saie has achieved here in Bari at the Nuova Fiera del Levante. It confirmed its role as Italy’s leading event in the construction sector, having been a key business opportunity for companies and professionals, in addition to its strategic role in promoting awareness of the sector’s excellence. At the Nuova Fiera del Levante we are very pleased with the great partnership that is being established with the people at Senaf and BolognaFiere, which will lead us to achieve increasingly ambitious and rewarding goals,” commented Nuova Fiera del Levante President Gaetano Frulli.
